Serial shooter or shooters may be responsible for 7 murders in Phoenix

Anyone who may be able to help police capture the suspects should call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. But they are demanding information, because of the fear they feel with a serial shooter freely walking around. Details of that information were not made available, and previous reports have described the vehicle as a light- or dark-colored sedan.

Oxnard Police Chief Jeri Williams has been picked to lead Phoenix's police department, leaving Oxnard without a chief in two public safety departments.

Other law enforcement agencies have joined the effort, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Marshals and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The FBI says it is assisting Phoenix police.

Dr. Steven Pitt, a forensic psychiatrist, says, "Much like Dieteman and Hausner, it appears you have an individual or individuals moving around the community targeting people at random".

June 10: A 19-year-old man named Manuel Garcia was shot and killed in front of a home near 6500 W. Coronado Road. All of these people were so good. "He didn't have problems with anyone".

"All these people were so good, good people with good families and now they are gone in a blink of an eye because of a monster", said the unidentified family member.

Manuel Castro Garcia was sitting in a auto outside a house in the area of 65th Avenue and Coronado Road the night of June 10 when, authorities said, a vehicle pulled up next to him. They said they are not ruling out the possibility that the shooter changed cars.

White's case does share some similarities to the others: All of the incidents occurred outside of residences, and all during nighttime hours.

Those shootings terrorized Phoenix for more than a year. She held on for nearly a month before succumbing to her injuries on July 7.

The killer has struck after dark and has killed men, women and children ranging from 12 to 55 with not apparent motive. That same person then shot him dead.

Diego Verdugo Sanchez, 21, was the shooter's first victim, gunned down while having dinner with his pregnant fiance's parents. He died at a hospital.

Most of the shootings have been on the west side of Phoenix, specifically in the city's Maryvale area.

Though there is a locational connection, the police have not released any other links between victims or the shooter.

All five murders have taken place since March, and investigators believe each case is related to what they are describing as the same serial street shooter.

One of those shootings occurred east of downtown.
