Videos Capture The Moment Dallas Shooting Suspects Opened Fire On Police

Video of Dallas cop shooting appears on the Internet

On Thursday, tragedy struck in Dallas, Texas, when five police officers were killed by a sniper during a protest. But, what it does show is just how powerful and terrifying the shooting that took place was.

A second video recorded with Facebook's live video feature shows the panic of a group of Black Lives Matter marchers after shots rang out. "They're shooting right now, and there's an officer down".

The first recording shows a police auto speeding through downtown Dallas, but does not appear to show the actual gunfight. "I think they might have got somebody", Bautista says into his phone, before eventually being told to leave the area.

With her young daughter in the back of the auto, Reynolds calmly explains that Philando Castile, sat covered in blood and losing consciousness next to her, was reaching for his drivers license rather than a weapon when he was shot several times.

A large swath of America watched raw, visceral footage of this week's deadly shootings on Facebook, raising fresh questions about how the social media giant should handle disturbing content. Facebook took the video down, then blamed a glitch and put it back up. The video has garnered more than 5 million views.

"Is that a cop dead?" said one of the individuals filming the scene.

The protesters had gathered after a Minnesota officer on Wednesday fatally shot Philando Castile while he was in a vehicle with a woman and a child in a St. Paul suburb.
