Chad Carr, 5, loses his battle with brain tumor

His parents made the announcement on a Facebook page dedicated to publicizing Chad's fight with the disease, writing: "At 1:21pm today, exactly 15 months since his DIPG diagnosis, Chad gained his angel wings".

"The nation has really taken notice of Chad's story in recent weeks, to the point that Michigan's biggest rivals, Michigan State and Ohio State, both wore "#ChadTough" helmet decals for last Saturday's game at Ohio Stadium.

Chad is battling an inoperable brain tumor and recently entered hospice care.

Hearts are breaking all over after hearing the news that Chad Carr has died. We are taking him off of steroids because they make him ravenous and we don't want him to be starving and not have the capability to eat...that is torture. "I don't know if it's going to get any better anytime soon". Jason Carr is a former MI quarterback.

Ohio State and Michigan State will put their rivalry with Michigan on hold Saturday afternoon.

The basketball teams from UM and Ohio State also decorated the Carr house in Saline, Mich., for the holidays, and the MI softball team visited the Carrs on Friday to present Chad with several gifts, including a softball glove and a banner signed by its team members.

The Michigan players wrote #ChadTough on the back of their helmets last week, and the gameball from the win over IN was delivered to Chad Carr the next day.
